Azuki, the anime-inspired NFT project actioned eight golden skateboards as NFTs that raised $2.5 million in Ethereum (ETH).

These eight holders can run the NFTs to redeem a real-life gold-plated skateboard. These types of sales are what Azuki is calling “physically backed tokens” or PBTs. This skateboard weighs 45 pounds and is recommended for display.

During the action, it held 145 bids in total and the lowest bid was at 200 ETH or $267,000. The highest winning bid however was by dingaling. eth is an NFT collector with over 100 Azuki NFTs.

This trend of connecting physical collectibles with NFTs continues to grow as can be previously seen with Chevrolet and a Zo6.
