In a joint statement on Thursday eBay and KnownOrgin announced that the large e-eommerce store had bought and acquired Known Origin for an undisclosed amount.

eBay has shown great participation in the world of Web3 with their opening of crypto payments and NFTs in 2021 but this purchasing of KnownOrgin has sealed the deal on their interest in Web3.

There have been various NFT marketplace acquisitions over the past few months. It was only on Tuesday that Uniswap Labs, the creators of Uniswap, stated that they were acquiring Genie, an NFT marketplace. Similarly, back in April, Open sea acquired the well-known NFT marketplace, Gem.
